@jedzxor He was in jail for a few years, and got back out this past year. He's in Blacksburg again. I'm not sure of he went back to his old house with the giant hole in the roof.

@SEMICHUCK Considering I saved this tape,from destruction, this is what you get. It's not perfect, it's a 13 year old VHS that has been in the elements. It would have been nice if it was perfect, but it is not.

When Shawn Lane gets deep in the groove it creates such a truly awesome energy. All I can do is: laugh, get really excited, inspired, and I always want to play guitar all night afterwards. A high better than any drug.

I think it was 1996. I think they played South Main twice in 96. I recorded, produced edited etc. a full length video of one of the South Main shows with a two camera set up on Super VHS. I don't know if this is from what we shot but I do remember Shawn being behind that stupid pole. I also have the Floyd show on VHS. Hopefully I can find the time in the new year to put it all on youTube. And yeah, he was the best. Super sweet guy too.

@Scrumdilliisious I was at this show and have the complete tape as well. Fantastic! They played in Floyd VA not far away a short time later as well and we got to hang out and talk with shawn a bit after the show. 30 minutes of conversation changes my whole approach to music and guitar playing.

@0ptriX Yes, I hear that too! Look at how fast and effortlessly he slips individual segments in there. Most players play their licks in memorized segment which they then stick together Shawn's almost choosing everything note-by note. Truly the greatest.
