http://springhillnursery.com/blueberry-plants/c/1738/pc/11/ - In this video, Scott from Spring Hill Nurseries talks about blueberry plants and how to grow them in a container. You want to use a large container, such as a whiskey barrel. This Ka-Bluey blueberry plant is only 3 years old and produced 5 - 6 quarts of blueberries in its second year! If you only have a patio or if your soil type is too alkaline, growing your blueberry plant in a container is the way to go.
My plant is at least 2 years old and its much smaller and the branches are not that thick at all. My problem is that it produces long branches and it gets higher but I want it to have a more compact, bush like form. Any tipps someone?

How can you tell how old a blueberry plant is? I bought one at a nursery but I have no idea if it is 3 years old or not.. doesn't look as big as that one in your video.

That looks to be about a 5 year old plant. Perhaps it was a couple years old when it was planted. The wood that was lopped off was especially old

Very clear, thanks.
Now, why wouldn't you prune away ALL of the old, dead growth?

Can you take that cutting and replant it to make a new blue berry plant?

3 years old from seed??? That's some pretty crazy growth for a 3 year old. I have a 2 year old ones that are only about 2ft tall and no where near that size.
