New theatrical trailer for the musical space western, STINGRAY SAM. Written and directed by Cory McAbee. Music by AMERICAN ASTRONAUT. Narration by David Hyde Pierce. Premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2009.
Please Mr. Mcabee, put yourself more out there-you're brillaint. Maybe because it's so hard to find your music/movies makes you even more of a legend.
Saw it today, it's great fun and re-deconstructive brilliance in 6 little bite-sized doses! Cory was there and he answered some questions. I asked him about the recurring "reverse-oedipal" theme in his work and I think I stumped him ;-) Might've been a bad choice of words. But I find it interesting that in his work, mother figures are absent, while the galaxy is populated by adult males who behave like children, and the hero is the one man who behaves like a good father. Just sayin'.
This film rocks! Seeing it again in Bethlehem! I've found Cory McAbee and Charlie Kaufman to be the only two writer/directors whose work I always love.

Oh that was an awesome trailer! I'd love to see a screening, but it won't be anywhere near Maryland apparently...
Ah well, I'll pick up a DVD when it comes out I guess.

Good work, bud. Coulda sworn I saw Fudge in there for a split-second. This rates a trip to Vegas for the screening.
YOW!
