That Kicks shit . I'm a lot closre to bonny Scotland than these folks but they have the lead on me .....dammit deys goooood and thats comming from a (considered fuckin good fiddle player)
Why is there a snare drum in this otherwise very traditional musical setting? Is it just because the drummer (Cheryl smith) is the producer of the "cape breton live" radio show? Why couldn't she just learn the fiddle like the rest of us wanna bees.Thank God she doesn't play trombone......
AWESOME!!! Awesome music, awesome playing, awesome recording! Thanks to all the musicians for sharing this music and to Danny for recording it and making it web-accessible.
I've loved Cape Breton/NS fiddle music for about 10 years since I first found it in Fiddler Magazine. Have loved listening to it and fiddling it myself (such that my "fiddling" is). Absolutely thrilled to be able to see your videos. This has already "made my day"!!!
this is the same video as part 1.
