One from the Blue Beat label that has a most un-bluebeat sound to it indeed. Issued in the UK in 1964.

  • This is a cover of a Rufus Thomas track. 'Do The Dog' by The Specials is indeed based on this track and Rufus Thomas gets a writing credit for it.

  • @TFCHooligan69 It's not a direct cover, but the fact that it's called "Do The Dog" and it's a sort of similar chord progression would indicate yes. Most 2Tone tracks were either covers or remakes of often-obscure first wave songs.

  • Only other band would be the Aussie band in Jamaica The Caribs ?

  • Blue Flames also had supported/recorded with Prince Buster of BlueBeat label fame,this is surely the Midlands group though that knew the Montanas,Ambrose Slade,Light Fantastic, etc
