New clouds in FlightGear 2 the free open source flight simulator. Just a quick take-off and landing from San Francisco International Airport. This is version 2.0 from code in CVS :)

  • Ooh ok. Yeah, downloading the GIT version right now, as I have been for the past 4 hours.:D Oh, on the website it said 2.4.0 isn't supposed to be out until August 18.

  • @TheSmashedStudios for the rest of the public. For beta testers (GIT) is ready now.

  • Oh ok. And was that sarcasm about the "hat" inside your finger?:D And one more question, i have FlightGear 2.0, but the clouds don't look like that. I am downloading the GIT version right now, so it probably doesn't matter, but I was just wondering...

  • @TheSmashedStudios Hehe google ms sidewinder precision pro 2, thats my joystick model so you see. GIT fixes a lot of issues with graphics and shaders, like the clouds, also Flightgear is version 2.4.0 now.

  • Hey man, how do you get your camera to pan around like that?

    In-flight name: Jeff.

  • @TheSmashedStudios Hey thx for watching! I use the mouse, and also the joystick's "hat", that I use for moving around the view point. That "hat" is a mini joystick in my finger ;)

  • Ooh ok. Well I got the GIT version, but it says "error: unable to create file aircraft-uiuc/runfgfs.bat (permission denied)

error: unable to create file runfgfs.bat (permission denied)

Is there a way I can change my computer settings to give it permission?

And thanks for all the help man.

  • in flight gear my clouds are square, why?

  • @travelsonic I think is related to distribution licences, all needs to be free as in freedom, opensouce stuff. But, if you want to use your own stuff its ok, as long as you publish it on your own terms and website. Google "flightgear hangars" and see what I mean. Thx for watching! New videos coming, I have new video hardware he-he! Muhahah!

  • One thing I wondere is why FlightGear aircraft use the texture formats they use, and have textures work the way they do instead of doing something *similar* to what MS does with their Flight Simulator [including using common file formats] - making editing textures, etc easier and less intimidating to others.
