Very interesting. A while back I wrote you pointing out why using such terms a BLACK is problematic. Basically stateing that what is considered a BLACK person differes from culture to culture. I just find it interesting because I pointed out to you the fact that across Europe Gypsies are considered black yet you told me that wasn't true.The thing is that black is a relative term. It is used to describe anyone with dark skin.

@kedordu Northern Africa in ancient times was White, we then slowly mixed with sub saharan negro slaves which formed Arab looking people/ mulattoes! These mulattoes peppered with some negroes and Whites that was left amongst the larger mullato populas invaded Spain. Thus, in paintings you see more civilized negroes holding harps ect or a chess board which came from the ancient Whites!

Moors are from North of the Sahara in North west Africa, they are definitely not sub-saharan I know that because I am one :)

Moor in spanish meant "muslim".
About 50% of the Moors were actually Islamized Iberians , 50% other were a mix of Berbers and Arabs .
The few black were slaves , and only represent 0.03 % of the Moorish population of Spain.
