  • without a body and without cylinder heads..

  • wow is that cool as hell

  • Looking around a bit, I think all the H's had 'em. Pretty easy to overlook, if you don't know it's there!

Both were great little machines, though I'll admit I'm biased towards the 'layin' down' twins. Particularly the big, lazy D's. Shoot... they'd pull until you could read the number on the flywheel!

  • oh yeah cool! i never noticed that pedal on one before. they had them optional on the L series tractors but they are a fairly uncommon to find

  • Sorry... not trying to spam you!

You can see the pedal for it clearly, just behind and to the left of the belt pulley.

  • Ah, didn't see that myself. I'll take your word for it!

The foot-feed was a darned handy device, if you needed to travel on a road between fields. Could get about 10mph or so out of it. I don't know if it was standard or an option on the H's. I'll see if I can't find a vid or two here to show you what it looks like.

  • well i noticed its an luc on a homemade tractor at the end of the vid.

really i cant say ive noticed that feature on any of the h's ive seen. ill have to look at the one my neighbor has,

  • Probably is - doesn't seem to have that deeper tone of the bigger tractors.

The H's had a foot-operated governor override (located next to the pulley). It opened the governor up to 1800rpm for a higher road speed, instead of the normal 1400rpm. The '41 I used for a while did, as well as most others I've seen.

  • i cant say ive seen an H with a foot throttle. i knew it wasnt an H. they sound quite a bit different. im quite familiar to the sound of my model L's engine so i was sure it was an L series engine.

  • I was thinking L or possibly an H (with the foot throttle engaged).
