BULLSHIT! This was faulty SHITY engineering on the part of Boeing. How can they honestly plead ignorance with over 2500 cases of radio-altimeter failures. The plane snapped into a mode of flight ALL ITS OWN. This wasn't pilot error. This was a difficult approach which lots of pilots with FUNCTIONAL planes fly routinely. You give the BEST pilot a malfunctioning plane and then you blame the pilot?! This was a seasoned instructor. Boeing's trying to excuse itself here...Its disgustingly obvious.

In this clip, an aviation analyst, John Nance, said "the airplane was malfunctioning in very minor way,,,,". This statement is wrong, and taking too much side for Boeing. This is not a minor problem to my eye as a pilot. When making a final approach, the plane retard the throttles while it is up in the air. Very very dangerous. I do not like the way how this movie clip presents this accident in a way that the pilots were to be blamed.

@okturus Boeing replied on these 2500 cases of radio-ALT failure : " its not a safety problem , there are suffecint warnings and indications for the pilots to [timely intervene] ".
yes , this malfucntion is Boeing's , but its not dangrouse because once the pilot gets alerted he should simply :
1- disengage the auto-pilot . 2- apply manual throttle and control.
pilots didnt keep thier eyes on the speed indicators and "Retard"alert ,if they did there wont be a crash .70% pilot fault.

Computers decrease pilot workload but they fail. Pilots job to MONITOR ALL SYSTEMS IN CASE OF FAILURE. This plane had the exact same failure 2 times the previous 2 days. The crews of those 2 flights caught the failures, disengaged the AP & made safe landings - IOW they did their job!
Yes the rad-alt failed, but pilot neglect allowed the crash to occur. At fault especially was the safety officer for not doing the very job he was there to do: catch something the other might miss while training.

it is still the pilots fault all 3 of them should have seen the speed was low at like 135 knots or 125 or 120 not 105, when stall warning came on.. they were to busy doing things way to late, and also i dont see how as a pilot when the captain found out that his radio alt was not working he should have also thought

@Progamble Right, thank you for sharing the geological information now it's time for you to get off youtube and teach your children about conclusion of an inevitable fatality of a malfunctioning instrument. Before writing down a super stupid comment I recommend you do a research about crashes, amount of casualties and 3rd party contributions to plane crashes! Also compare the difference between plane crashes and what causes them plus watch the entire documentary from the beginning god damn it!

@spemux U might not know, but New Zealand has no Kangaroos, and we dont greet each other with a "g'day mate." I think you're a little confused about New Zealand and Australia. If u dont know, Australia is about a 4,000 miles West of New Zealand. I thought I would let u know that my 11 year old daughter knows that, and my eight year old son also knows that Kangaroos arent native to New Zealand.

@spemux The statistics dont lie. Look at Turkish Airlines statistics on fatalities, and u will see that they rank in the top 10 with the highest rates of fatalities. U can argue all u like but the statistics are an objective measure of an airlines safety record. Now, may be Turkish Airlines stats will improve over the next 10 years, but at present their safety record is not very impressive at all. Check the numbers, the numbers dont lie!
