Here's a video of my furnace, water heater, and humidifier. The humidifier has been disconnected for some reason. Which I couldn't give 2 shits about, because I've never lived in a house with a humidifier before, and I have no clue on the face of the earth what the hell purpose a humidifier would have.

  • Nice furnace!

Looking at the numbers on the gas valves, it's a 1993 model.

I have to get a video of the 1986 Rheem furnace at my dad's someday. It has a humidier too, but it has been disconnected back in 1999 when he got the old 1970 GE central ac replaced with a Bryant unit.

  • Ahh 1993! I guessed 1994 because there's a tag on the gas pipe saying it was inspected in 1994.

Maybe that's when my humidifier was disconnected.

Actually, it might have been disconnected in 1984 when the new water heater was installed, because there's no connection for the water hose.

  • Do you think you'll be posting that soon? With the winter season coming around it will be time to make more of thesekinds of videos! Unfortunately I can't from my apartment as the basement is not unlocked to get in there.

  • Sounds like that is what was at my mother's old house he moved out in 2001. As a ham I had a lot of radio equipment there then and I'd hear the sparks on all of the equipment I had.

  • I wonder then how many of you who had to get newer fernaces have had them worked on within a few years of having them? Until it dyed we never had to have anything done with the fernace tha my parents had rom 1980 to 1992 it did its thing and we did our's. I also forgotto mention that he fernace also needed to drain something, and who knows what. Any how, I never thought of someone posting a video of a fernace, butcool just the same!

  • In my mother's old house that she moved out of in 2001 when the sparks or something would change you could hear it on the radio as it would produce some statc. It was 1992 when she replaced the old fernace, and had it worked on in 1994! Any how, the first fernace they had was one I'd turn off and on when we moved in in 1980 at the tender age of 3!

  • Hey there Vince, this reminds me of when I was young just to mess with my parents I'd go down and turn the furnace on and of just to get people going. What a cool video. Will write more later.

  • my furnace dose not use a pilot 'it lights

by a electric glowplug ignitor that sparks

to light the burner jets same thing that in your gas grill that wheel is the combustion fan moter cooling inpeller

    to keep it from overheating

  • that the cooling inpeller for the

    combustion fan moter

  • Cool :)

In my parent's second house, we had a 1989 Bryant furnace. It broke down once, due to the blower motor had spun a bearing (that made some noise!)
