World download now for those who want!

Go to the file button in the top left of the google doc page and click download. Gives you a nice zip file. (If this is too complex for people I might upload to another site).

This is a 3 part tutorial on the machines, logic, and piping needed to set up a perpetual tree farm.

Part 1: This one
Part 2: The Bog Farm and Peat-Fired Engines - http://youtu.be/HeNvrRAMv14
Part 3: Biomass Production and Tree Farms - http://youtu.be/EEZpjH5inbI

A word of warning, due to the use of several mods in the automation of this system (BC, RP, and Forestry) I assume you have basic knowledge of each of these systems, and can figure out how to craft the respective machines. This is a logic tutorial on how the best setup the farm, not on how to craft the machines, NEI and the wiki's should enable anyone to find the materials and machinery needed to craft the machines I use in this video. If you need help on something specific don't hesitate to ask as I'm more than happy to explain things in more detail if needed.

This a long and complex tutorial covering everything from the machines I use to the tiny tricks needed to set things up in a compact way. For the feint of heart this might be overwhelming, I've tried my best to break it down and simplify the logic so all you end up needing to do is put the machines where you see them, and put the pipes where you see them and ideally everything should work.

To get the tree farm to work do you need the bog farm too?

You need another farm to generate the fertilizer, you can use wheat farms for this as well as bog farms, I used bog as it also provides the power for the whole thing as well.

    A question and a request:

Question: What's the timing on the Timer? Just a second pulse?

Request: Building the "main" peat bog block by block in a video for us to follow along placing things ;x

Just the default 2 seconds on the timer.

As for the request I would but forestry's next update is switching to multi-block farms, and while the regular ones I'm using here are still in, he plans to remove them after another patch. So I'm gonna try to get the multi-block automated next.

May I suggest that in stead of using Igneous Extruder, you could use a simple vanilla minecraft cobblestone generator then use block breakers to break them then use transport pipes to pupe them into the relay. Now I'm just suggesting and this is your system so you do what you wish with it :).

other than fertilizer to make the humus, no you don't need anything. I'd suggest going with a steves cart tree farm instead because then you don't have to bother with upkeep, as well as still getting the same supplies.

I don't get it, you spend 4 sand and 4 dirt to make 6 bog earth. How come this setup won't eventually run out of dirt, seeing as you only supply extra sand into the system?

great video! I have a question though: could this work just as well with one tree farm and one peat bog?
