Ethan Nadelmann, executive director of the Drug Policy Alliance, responds to the recent decree by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) that marijuana has no accepted medical use. The decision by the DEA comes almost nine years after medical marijuana supporters asked the government to reclassify cannabis to take into account a growing body of research that shows its effectiveness in treating certain diseases. • DEA is CORRUPT

  • Saying the schedule 2 cocaine, is "safer" then the schedule 1 marijuana is just absurd. Marijuana should be straight up legal.

  • SCREW Moving marijuana to schedule 2. Legalization should be the only priority. fuck the dea

  • Take all your money out of the banks till they legalize Marijuana. Pay with only cash and keep your cash at home. If we all did this, they would have no other choice but to Regulate, Tax and Legalize Marijuana. The government is only concerned about money, anyways. We have the power, we just need to use it. We will never make this happen if we only bitch about it. They don't care if we complain. Take back your power by taking out your money. Think about it.

  • It's such BS that the government can regulate something that honestly has no harmful effects on the human body. It's all paid propaganda, and they want to get richer. Alcohol and tobacco are much more harmful to your body and a plant grown naturally.

  • Why don't more people just come out and say that they want marijuana to be legalized because they want to get high? It's so simple and it's the only honest argument I or any advocate can make.

  • Cannabis is not in Schedule 1 because of any safety issue, but because fed gov says that it has no accepted medical use. Drugs in Schedule 2 are there so that they can be prescribed as medicine, whereas drugs in Schedule 1 cannot. Very soon, cannabis will move to Sched 2 and the world of medical marijuana will be expanded to take on a greater meaning - one that includes the cannabis pharm drug Sativex. Sativex cannot be prescribed until cannabis is moved from Sched 1. It's in Stage3 already.

  • you know springing for a tripod wouldnt hurt.... keep up the good work Ethan.

  • @asphyxiafeeling nowadays that's like saying the sky is blue.

  • I'm all for legalising, taxing, and regulating. It's absurd to NOT do it.

  • Why legalize it? Private companies making butt loads of money is wayyyy more important than, you know, actual people... >.>
