  • It's coming from the man himself, he should know better than anyone else.

  • I am very much looking for the clip where Jim talks about the engineers putting magnets next to the hard drive. DO you have that segment?

  • @RawwestHide People have been emailing since the 80's. And even before that.

  • 1:13 Just got this email? In 90? You mean fax or something?

  • @klarson1125 they do

  • @Nogli It was used as a general purpose beep - it's still used as a general purpose beep :P IE you can use it to tell you when you get a new email, when you get a new IM, when you get an error box, when an application wants your attention, etc.

  • @bretsteinmetz true.

  • You're missing the point. He was an engineer. You also contradicted yourself. Earlier in the movie, he explained how not "so wonderful and happy" it was to work for Apple as an engineer. I would probably be disgruntled too if I had to go through some of the headaches with the Apple board he had to go through.

  • /watch?v=mplxlVukDz8 (title is in spanish but it is the original segment)... cheers!

  • He says he told some people. Just not everybody till 99. I'm sure the story was around. Christ what a petty argument.

  • If his story isn't completely accurate, what has he got wrong (seriously, this isn't a stab, but for genuine research for a college project.)

Also, what was the sound actually used for? Error or startup/ shutdown etc.?
