the statistics u have mentioned were abt america, even though u r australian!.. it would have been better, in my opinion, to mention some stats abt australia or other parts of the world if u wanted to globalize the issue!

But I didn't want to globalise the issue. It was a local issue, in another country. They were statistics based on the votes taken in California, Arizona and Florida, and the video was simply my comment on the result of these votes.

You are 100% right Robmuch. And Gay people have been fighting for years. I'm an old guy (sigh!), I remember when all my friends were terrified of being "found out" - so of them were afraid of loving their jobs, their friends, their families - and some did. But Gay people in the 1970's often used to buy the shit that bigots told us - that Gay people are sick and needed to be "cured". It took some time, but Gay people finally did away with most of it - you kids will do the rest.

I understand what you are trying to say, but I am 51 and gay. If you read the hateful comments on youtube against gays, you will find that over 90% of them are from those who fall in the 18 to 29 age group. My Grandma who died at 101 was the one who helped me to accept myself--she was angry with me when I went the ex-gay route. She was awesome and very supportive. So NO, it's not about age, but rather false religious beliefs. I am a gay christian, and have been rejected by the church--not God!

if i could vote i would vote YES!on proposition 8 because every one shuld have right to be happy with who ever they want and if they want to get married with the person of the same sex then they should have a right to get married! I AM 13 YEARS OLD AND STRAIGHT AND I WOULD VOTE YES ON PROPOSITON 8!

i agree totally, i don't considered 45 or even 60 as'OLD', they are from a generation that we must never forget!!!

YOUNG man, 45 is not OLD and if you realy believe that we have to wait for them to die off before we have equality then we have a long, long wait. Surely is not about waiting for the bigots to die, but about education getting through to them as it appears to be getting throught to the young.

although some good points- not all true love! be careful of using statistics and percentages- while Florida has high percentage of old folks- many of whom are in institutions and don't vote- we have a large population and several of whom are transient- many more young people are here now- we just passed Gay adoption - Hooray!!! Forgot the US state of Massacussetts has gay marriage as well! The old 1913 law was repealed on 1 August 2008.
