  • You didnt have your pharmacist check it before you added the solution to the bag! Lol

  • Couple of issues I had with this video. 1) you only swab once, do not rub vigorously 2) IV bag injection port should be toward the LAF filter. 3) never ride on the hilt, causes coring.

**Personal note, I never inject air first, I always withdraw then replace only if I am sure there's equal pressure. But good technique though.

  • @SoHoTandCool And also, wouldn't it seem logical that if you used one swab to clean a dirty vial and use it on ANOTHER vial or port of IV bag.... you did NOT fully sterilize it.

  • @SoHoTandCool When I meet a student from a diff university, I hear diff things. But since my school has the same proctors every year, they have their own ways of looking at things. But I think IDEALLY, though not practical in the real world, each vial top should have each of its own swab and should only be used ONCE. By "rubbing" the swab like 5 times against the top of the vial risks swab fibers from snagging onto the top of the vial... risking possible contamination.

    Ask your professor.

  • @clutzyshell we were told to use the same swab, and do it five time on every port you are going to use. wrong?

  • This must be low risk? No gown?

  • You're really not supposed to swab the same top more than once with the alcohol pad. Because the swab is already contaminated, you wouldn't swipe it AGAIN. Plus, swabbing more than once with the same pad can increase chance of fibers of the cloth getting trapped and snagged on the top of vial.

  • should inspect bag for any core particles before sealing

  • aspirate to make sure u have all medication from needle

  • Hey you did not label the IV Bag with the medication you added..
