"JSOC Heroes kill Osama bin Laden". Many have never heard of the Joint Special Operations Command ( JSOC), a component command of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) that killed Osama bin Laden.
Members of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne) are part of that team of heroes.Critics claim that Osama Bin Laden and other members of Al-Qaida provided support and training to Mohammed Farrah Aideed forces that killed our brothers in Somalia. A grateful nation thanks the NAVY SEALS, CIA and JSOC members for bringing down the founder and architect of the 9-11 attacks, Osama bin Laden.
This song pays tribute to all members, past and present, of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). Many of our heroes work in the shadows to secure our freedom and keep us safe. This song tells the story of a man that the songwriter knew. Tell the story of a hero that you know or have known...Freedom is Never Free.

The songwriter also pays special tribute to his fallen friend,
Chief Warrant Officer 3, Donovan L. "Bull" Briley, U.S. Army Night Stalkers, who was Killed In Action, October 3, 1993, during the Battle of Mogadishu as depicted in both the book and movie Blackhawk Down.

(SONGWRITER'S NOTE) - (Berets wrong color?)
The songwriter has a line in the song's chorus that says, "The Bull, he wore a Green Beret", when the Night Stalker's berets are really, maroon in color.
The songwriter made the berets green in the song because he said Mr. Briley always carried himself like John Wayne in the 1968 movie, "The Green Berets".
The songwriter graduated U.S. Army WOEC with Mr. Briley, as well as sharing a room with him in U.S. Army flight school.

THE MISSION
While leading a multi-aircraft flight on the assault of an objective in downtown Mogadishu, Somalia on October 3th 1993, the Black Hawk helicopter, "SUPER 6-1" (#91-26324) flown by CW4 Clifton P. Wolcott and CW3 Donovan L. Briley was struck by an RPG and crashed.
This operation became well known to the general public after the book by Mark Bowden, "BLACK HAWK DOWN A Story Of Modern War
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Hawk-Down-Story-Modern/dp/0871137380

Then the movie "BLACK HAWK DOWN" , winner of 2 Academy Awards (2001) , once again highlighted the story.

To learn more about the 160th SOAR (A), read the book by
Michael J. Durant CW4 (RET.) , titled, "IN THE COMPANY OF HEROES".
CW4 Durant remembers CW3 Briley in one of the book's chapters,
as well as other soldiers.

SUPER 6 -1 PILOTS
For the purpose of our video, we left the "Elvis" title on CW4 Cliff Wolcott's picture, as that was the only photo we had of Mr. Wolcott. We are aware of the "Elvis" story not confirmed by the members of 160th who were there. We did use another photo of Mr. Briley, as we know he was NOT called Sitting Bull as in the wide spread photo many have seen...It was just "Bull".
