  • Didn't O'Niel play in the NFL too? I think he played with the Pittsburg Steelers for a year or two before getting into acting.

  • @MrKurt1962 yes

  • holy shit alot of students there..

  • thats awsome

  • Inside MMA sent me here!!!

  • So, like I said. Don't get a blackbelt. Get the training, but you don't need the trophy. A belt is just something to keep your pants on.

  • @jackingoldsby . BTW that's another point... I'm going for my belt in traditional jujitsu, not BJJ. They are not the same. A BJJ black belt typically takes a lot longer to get. Similarly in one karate club I trained in, a black belt would take about 8-10 years. Another TKD club would give theirs in 2-3 years. Black belts vary across styles and from club to club, so there is no objective legal standard.

  • @sunnchilde . A decades old myth. Google "Black Belts Having To Register As Deadly Weapons" and "Jonathan Maberry"

If you injure somebody in a fight, and people saw you demonstrated some competence at fighting you might be asked if you had any training. But you would get asked the same thing if you boxed, wrestled etc.

I'm going for my black belt in this year, and I have to get background check. But that is the organization's rule not the government (in case I work with kids etc)

  • Actually, having a black belt has certain legal ramifications. Your hands and feet would be considered "deadly weapons" under the law. Wouldn't it be better to do everything up to a black belt, and then just not take the test? If your teacher really wanted to give you one, you could just put it in the safe and never talk about it to anyone.

  • i wish you the best,14 years is a lot of work,i,ve been training for quite a few years and this is a great sport.

  • @alucard1931 HAHAHAHAHA!! epic!
