We can acknowledge that oppression will always be with us, and still strive for justice. We can admit the intractability of depravation, and still strive for dignity. We can understand that there will be war, and still strive for peace. We can do that - for that is the story of human progress; that is the hope of all the world; and at this moment of challenge, that must be our work here on Earth.

We make mistakes, and fall victim to the temptations of pride, and power, and sometimes evil.

So, is there some method for taking the prize back from those who prove later that they clearly don't deserve it?

Obama has been president for 3 years during which he received this award that represents peace. This ultimately is a mark that he wears that he can be recognized by. My guess is that the war machine gets going the middle of this year which would be three and one half years.
