Big parts of Mac OS are open source, including for example the technology Safari uses, and most of the system kernel: Machintosh wouldn't still exist today without open source. The website you are viewing runs on a moslty open source system. And you can pay a lot for using open source, it's not always free!
Yeah, I'm a linux, kind of... :-)

“free” as in “free speech,” not as in “free beer

Name something that was any good that came out of open source... Apache ... even microsoft used it while trying to flog off their own crap host LOL LOL...
-
BSD actually, which is a derivative of UNIX and open source.

What shoulda happened: Mac: Open source? Name something that's any good that ever came out of open source! Linux: How about YOU?
Of course Mac OS isn't open source itself, but a lot of its components are. (Isn't the kernel based on GNU Mach and BSD?)

@Kintertainment Actually, nope. OS X does not use the Linux kernel. It uses Apple's own Darwin kernel. Which is based on Unix.

Chrome is good with open source...

@livelifehight your friend obvious has no idea how to use linux neither do you if you cause the shortcuts to get "eaten" by the start bar. Say that you will never touch linux because of that is like saying "I'm never going to touch a car because I don't know how to drive"

I will never touch linux again. My friend was running ubuntu and i was playing around with it and all his shortcuts got ate by the start bar. he had to reinstall it.
