This very easy two-hour conversion, of a
$5 "garage-sale special" guitar, creates
an instrument that simulates three seperate
instruments, totally depending on how it's
tuned & how it's played:
1) a 5-string banjo (actually 9-string ---- being doubled)
2) an 8-string (four sets of doubled strings) tenor guitar.
3) a cittern, bazoukey or octave mandolin
This conversion has four sets of doubled-up
strings, each pair tuned in unison & a single
banjo-like "5th string". Not to beat a notice to
death, but this video is not for "performance"
sake, but rather just to give you an idea of
what this instrument's "3-phases" sound like.

Real fun to play & a heck of a conversation piece!
