Bomba is a music and dance form born in the sugar plantations of Puerto Rico over three hundred years ago. Used as a form of resistance and relief, bomba provided a setting for enlaved Africans and Puerto Ricans to creatively express what they were living through daily. Aguacero is directed by Shefali Shah with musical direction by Hector Lugo and the collaboration of Bay Area artists practicing and studying bomba.

  • me encanta ...escucho esto y me da waooooo unas ganas d bailar ...pq sera?

  • @SebastianQuinsella I feel sorry for you, trying to be so condescending, yet sound like an idiot,

as per the facts ... if you were counting boricua's through out the world...well do the math... 3.8 in Puerto Rico, 3.5 in the US, and another 1 million throughout the world, that's more than ur 5 million,

as per the dances, if u were a TRUE boricua, u will know there are no WHITE dances, our heritage is spanish, indian & african, i agree with EVAUZC, there's NO COLORS involved, y r u so ignorant?

  • @EVAUZC...so you can have Black dances from slave days, but NOT any White dances.Hypocrisy much? Baba afro-centrica tipica del puto "boricua".

I LIVE in Puerto Rico! Not in your ghetto rat-hole in the precious"Bay Area",so go take your "show" to the Castro where it will blend in with the freak show.

You DO NOT speak for 5 MILLION REAL Puerto Ricans. We've had enough of your cultural hi-jacking, asquerosa.

What of the music of Quatro?

    The Canary Islander?

    The Corsicans?

    Too White for you?

  • when will you do the folk dances of the whites in Puerto Rico?
