Notes:
I wrote this for my AP Music Theory final exam (literally the night before it was due). The guidelines were to use Bach-style chorale form and to span at least 16 measures. I went a little... out of bounds, but I think it turned out pretty nicely!
Explored a bit the functionality and sound of add-tone chords with this piece. It created a lot of (palatable) dissonance, which was cool, but also created a wee bit of issue whenever I tried to use parallel motion (though considering a major seventh is composed of two overlapping P5s... it was inevitable!)
It sorta forced me to use oblique or contrary motion most of the time, which was interesting, but limiting. There's some voice crossing too...
Needless to say, rules were meant to be broken. At least sometimes.
Of course this is only a concept, and like all of my "concepts" (I have a lot), this one will probably be redone at some point in time, hopefully recorded with real instruments instead of soundfonts.
It was meant to be a standard string quartet with the some harp accompaniment, but my violin soundfonts are... mostly pretty bad, so I settled for dual violas.
