Paramedic Internship

A small video that I made on some of the calls that I was fortunate to get while on my paramedic internship. Everything from DCAP-BTLS, stabbings, SOB, ALOC, CP, 5150, MVC with helicopter, rollovers, SZ, OD, diabetic shock, +ETOH, AB pain, syncope, epistaxis and 45 minute transports! in the future, would it be possible to include subtitles with the abbreviations? CP with SOB? it would be helpful to the non-medic layperson.

MVA: motor vehicle accident

CP: chest pain

SOB: shortness of breath

MCI: mass casualty incident

ALOC: altered level of consciousness

ETOH: ethanol (short for alcohol)

I apologize for the abbreviations to the unknowing...

as long as you don't show the patient's face or any other information that can identify the person, you're not violating HIPAA. your department or service may have rules against the camera use, but there's nothing wrong in photographing the scene once the patient is out of the picture.

Why does the Medic student have enough time to be taking videos of incidents?

@carolinehill ... Register for an EMT Basic program, usually a semester long. Then practice as an EMT for about a year. Find a Paramedic program and Register, usually around 3 semesters(1 year).

the scene. These are acceptable times to examine the scene for learning . You want to critisize , man up go to medic school , that includes firefighters( cause I know you guys hate medics taking the spotlight). .... Btw thanks for the video

Lol, you can easily tell who are and are not paramedics in these comments... If any of you who are sayin he had to much free time on his hands actually knew anything about medic school you would know that this video barely scratches the surface of the amount of calls you run. This is maybe 5% of the situations he was put in. If you pay attention in the video you would see that he takes the pictures and vids, when approaching the scene(scene size up) and after the patients are transported from

I agree!!! When I was an intern, I barely had anough time to take a crap at quarters let alone take pictures at scene!!!! Nice Vid though...
