The video shown is of several SDT Waste & Debris trucks leaving the Paris Rd transfer site crossing the Southbound lanes and the median to head North on Paris Rd. In the video you can see several vehicles have to slam on the brakes to avoid colliding with the large garbage trucks. The green car has to move so far to the right that it is nearly in the drainage ramp. How long are these trucks going to be allowed to do this? Should it have to take someone getting in a serious accident to awaken the senses of this local waste and Debris Company?

  • very interesting

  • Yep that happend to me also. I hope it stops now before someone gets hurt.

  • In the beginning of the video you can see a STD Waste truck with the back gate stuck open. The driver of the truck carelessly pulls on to the highway with the gate open. Is this the type of business that we want to allow on the entrance of or Parish?

  • Today, Oct 24, 2008 ~ 10:20am the trucks exited south to the public works yard in the Agriculture Street area. They backed up on the old Paris Road to turn around for a north bound exit. Crossing all four lanes of Paris Road in this attempt, the transporter truck blocked the south bound lanes as it waited to turn north. Vehicles entering the parish south bound had to stop short, as their view is blocked until they descended the small incline at the levee protection in this area. NOT GOOD

  • The solution is either a stop sign or a traffic light that will just slow everybody down wheather there is a truck turning or not. Is that what you want?

Perhaps the solution is to inform your fellow motorists to use caution around intersections where large trucks are entering the roadway, and to slow down and be more curtious. Rather than bitch about a truck that forces you not to drive at reckless speeds.
