No, that's not what I said, Taco.Civil liberties are obviously restricted once someone is found guilty of a crime (put in prison, for example), but in a free society we have the presumption of innocence.And by the way, not one of the persons that has been held and tortured in Guantanamo Bay has shot a US soldier, so I really don't get what you're harping on about.

So you're saying if they are proven guilty they don't have civil liberties? So if a guy shoots an American soldier and they capture him you have to hold a trial. If so, you really need a clue.

Civil liberties are for everyone.The idea that Americans only care about civil liberties for themselves and then go on and violate the civil liberties of others is insulting.And if you think that a semantical argument on what to call detainees unobliges the US from the regs of the Geneva Convention, you're wrong.Bush knows this, too, that's why he's giving himself and friends retroactive presidential pardons.

Civil liberties are for American citizens. Please get a clue. These people are not covered under the geneva convention because they do not fight for a government and are not resistance group from a government.
