How Do I Get My Prayers Answered???

Well the first step is that you have to pray!!! Don't go looking up prayers to say except the Lord's prayer, a prayer must come from YOUR heart and not no one else's. If becoming a christian. Say from your heart you are a sinner, and know Jesus died and raised again....and that should lead you in the right way of the prayer. The Lord's Prayer: ( Matthew 6:9-13) "This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one for yours is the kingdom and power and the glory forever.Amen."

The b is silent in the word 'debt'.

I memorized that prayer a long time ago. Looking at it, how would you know if you did get the things you ask for: daily bread, forgiveness, avoiding temptation and delivering from evil. It seems to me that all these are things you can't see like forgiveness or things people get whether or not they pray and sometimes inspite of the fact they pray. Do nonbelievers get daily bread? Yes. Are you ever tempted or sometimes do evil? Well...?

We all do evil but are to come to repentence. Sorry about saying it as a B but its a habbit.

But the prayer makes no mention of coming to repentance. You are asking not to be tempted and to be delivered, rescued from evil. The forgiveness mentioned concerns a person forgiving other people in return for being forgiven. There is no mention of repenting or of God forgiving evil done because of repentance. My question stands. How would anyone know if this prayer were answered or not?

Don't you suppose your 'sinning less' could be a result of you trying really hard not to 'sin'? I mean, suppose you prayed the prayer really hard and believed totally and then just let God take care of the 'sinning less', ie. you didn't try. There is also the matter of defining what sin is. I find that as people get more into Christianity that they find sins everywhere and stress over every thought as sinful.
