Basially what this guy is saying is " make friends with non-muslims then get them to become muslims"...in other words "friendship for reason"....thanks prefer not to have friends like that but to have friends who love and accept me for who I am..

What the Shayke missed out was that the verse he mentioned in surah Imran does not use the word "Friend" but the word "Awliyah" is used, awliyah primarily means "Gurdian" or Protectors hence Pickthall's translation is slightly misleading on this verse since other revised translations such as the Saheeh international translation translates the word awliyah as it is meant in arabic i.e. Protectors.
