Classic Game Room reviews SONIC ADVENTURE for Sega Dreamcast from Sega released in 1999. Follow Sonic and friends on an adventure that changed the Sonic series for the next decade. While not the first time in 3D, Sonic Adventure blends 3-D style Sonic the Hedgehog gameplay with a variety of other gameplay styles like arcade airplanes shooters, pinball and futuristic driving games. Sega released Sonic Adventure for Xbox 360 Live Arcade and PS3 Playstation 3 Network with HD visuals, here's a look at the original Sonic Adventure on Sega Dreamcast. This CGR review of Sonic Adventure has gameplay from Sonic Adventure showing Sonic Adventure video game play in HD action.

  • Three words: Epic!

  • Just bought this game again on Dreamcast, with case and manual. It's simply how it has to be played.

  • i still love this game, about a month ago i re-bought this game for the dreamcast since i did not own it when i was younger but instead borrowed it from a guy i knew. My dreamcast later broke and it wasn't until a year ago that i bought another one from a Goodwill for 10 dollars (yes i'm not kidding only 10 dollars with all of the cables and whatnot) and it took me a while to get games for it i only have about 6 games atm, but i plan on getting more, but this game for me was a must to get.

  • @SideSmash Thank you for the reply; I must admit that I did not expect a serious, thoughtful comment like yours simply because it is rare on Youtube. To me, arcade games are generally simple at first glance--they use one button or two, they are easy to pick up and play--but hard to master. They usually have lots of extremely vibrant visuals to grab your attention, and move very quickly. They become easier with repeat play and save high scores. They are relatively short. Like Sonic.

  • @EkajTheSwordsman I agree about replaying the levels, but not once has a Sonic game ever felt like an arcade game to me (and I have played many, many arcades). Then again, if we wanted to argue about this, we'd have to analyze what an arcade game is supposed to be and what distinguishes it from consoles, both physically and philosophically.

  • @SideSmash It may not "feel" that way to you--but that's exactly what it is (like most Sonic Team games). It's all about replaying the levels and score attacking, time attacking, ring attacking, doing the different missions, finding all the routes. It's usually not even that much fun to play through the first time.

  • Okay, Sonic Adventure does NOT feel like an arcade game. That's just silly.

  • Wen I first played this game it was for the GameCube.

  • @TRUXTONFTW Yes, there is 3 words in the comment I made 5 months ago before I made this comment.

  • @EvilGoneGood12321 Three words?

  • My Favorite Sonic Game Ever on the Dreamcast

  • My first Sonic Game from when I was 7
