i totaly agree, the police are under no legal obligation to protect you. until they allow law abiding students have ccw's on campus then need to have an armed guard protecting everyone of us. it is only the law abiding citizens who dont bring weapons the criminals dont care and what happens? law abiding citizens die

It is reported that the shooter was taken off of a medication and started acting strange. Withdrawel from paxil can cause psychotic problems. My husband withdrew and he is convinced that many of these school shootings are due to paxil withdrawel. So maybe the issue is not "securing our schools" but getting more info out about the danger of paxil withdrawel. Do yourselves a favor and never allow your doctor to prescribe paxil for you.

He was no longer an NIU student...he was a grad student at U of I. He also had a history of mental illness.  You can't quite equate that with trying to look cool and you can generalize that to all NIU students.

maybe but he was taking meds and forgot to take them. that's what caused it. he wasn't taking his medications. sad that this happened.
