I stared at those APU vents chugging for some 20 minutes or so after landing...watched 'em shut down too, it was like watching a flesh-and-blood critter settling down for a nap.
Seems these wonderful machines built by our own hands and sweat and hard work actually become 'alive' in some way.
We put something of ourselves into them.
The guys at the Skunk Works will tell the same thing about the SR-71s, each aircraft develops its own unique quirks after a while.

It's normal venting. Happens on every landing but more evident at night because you can see the flame better.
