China, the world's third biggest economy, is not recovering as fast as the government had hoped after a $600bn stimulus package.

The downturn is leaving some Chinese longing for a sense of stability and feeling of nostalgia for the Communist lessons taught by Mao Zedong.

And it is the country's bookstores that are reaping the benefits.
