@byoungizzle a shovel, a spare tire/plank/downed trunk, and some manual labor makes a pretty cheap anchor. just bury your 'anchor' perpendicular to winching direction a few feet down taking care to disturb as little dirt as possible, and make a small trench/ramp for the cable (so it's not coming straight up out of said hole). connect line to anchor. winch. in this you're using compacted earth and a large surface area anchor, to provide anchoring traction.
Is there a cheap other way to get a ground anchor besides buying this little package? I have all the other wonderful accessories but not an anchor for when I'm out in the bush with no trees, thoughts?
