@AMatthewHunter - I've always had mine professionally transferred. It drives up the overall cost, but the quality is well worth it. Home transfer devices have become better quality, but the good ones are also expensive, and, considering I don't shoot all the time (I shoot between 4 and 12 carts a year), I just don't see the point in investing in a home unit. Cinelab is who I am currently using. Their HD transfers are affordable and the quality is great.
