The goal of El Futuro's "Puente Project" during 2011 was to serve Latino youth, ages 11-14, who were under emotional stress and were not functioning in their family or at school. The project linked at-risk Latino middle school students in Chatham County with caring counselors and psychiatrists to help them improve school performance and decrease involvement with at-risk behaviors.
