  • I don't think any speech about modern civilization has been as clear, concise and relevant as this.

  • WE THE WORKERS OF THE WORLD WALK OUT ON PROFIT. A proposal for nonviolent worldwide action to truly reclaim the one power we have left: our daily labor, the work that capitalism steals from our hands every day. "Profit" means "advantage" which creates the "disadvantaged"; and advantage will always outflank "reform" of an irrational equation (Take More Than You Give). Walk Out, and prove where real power is. at jackdempseywriter.wordpress dot c-o-m

Fortunately for us, it is a rule that perfection does not exist. It allowed for gravitation to create aggregates in an expanding space, thus galaxies and planets and stars; and it allowed for evolution on Earth.

Similarly, I think, our society isn't perfect as a system and there will be at least a few more Chomskys to tell us to look forward, that we may hit a wall and, with chance, imperfection will again strike, preventing the sequence to follow to its end.

  • @JayGatsbyOdysseus do you mean entropy?

  • @tomheppy People are too busy looking at videos of cute kittens... Idiots. All of them.

  • I'm trying to think of a word. It is not dystopia, but something like it. The word means "a system that inherently collapses." I think it is a physics term. This word is what we the Earth are. There is no way to stop our implosion. We can slow the bleeding a little but we cannot stop the bleeding. Can someone help me with the word I am thinking of?

  • Does anyone know where this speech was held and to what audience?

  • Koyaanisqatsi !

  • OCCUPY MOVEMENT!

  • @tomheppy

Fret not! We do not yet know what the long-term effects of the Internet on society may be. It could actually make us better. The # of views this video has has exponentially increased in the time since you made that comment. If this trend continues, many more will have watched it in ten years.

As long as the Internet is a place where we can freely share ideas that might be anti-authority, humanity stands a chance.

  • @TomZarek23 that's true, it's never not been the case. I think that people being surprised is just a form of cognitive dissonance from the myth that we live in a world of peace and that imperialism and colonialism are restricted to Columbus's time.
