America's message to all of us - "Go F$$K Yourselves"

Many America's are wanna-bes when it comes to the rich. They look up to them and

want to be "just like" them. Of course they are unaware of the whole story. They don't

understand the corruption between big business and the politicians who need the money

to be elected. This is something that is reaching critical mass. I think like Emerson that

through primacy of the soul that all riches become poverty and all reputation becomes

shame. Thanks, you remind me in a way of the late Eric Hoffer.

@Pilgrim812 Amazing that you mention a philosopher whose book, The True Believer, was the very first one I'd ever attempted to read over 40 yrs ago. Thanks for the kind compliment but Hoffer was light years beyond my comprehension of his teachings. He's still an inspiration, though, for me especially when I think about his economic background and lack of formal education. Inspiring for all of us to say the least. Thanks again.

The problem is in Europe the government is afraid of it's people. Unfortunately in the U.S. we are afraid of our government.

@jensjam That's a famous saying about governments fearing their people in other countries. It's so true and so sad that people over here don't realize that and how that could change everything over here if it were applicable here.

@MnDraw The message has begun to hit more and more folks. It's just that, like most economic revolutions, these kinds of things take time to grow but once they begin, look out! We can only wait, hope, and do our individual parts in the process. I've taken certain economic steps myself which I may share sometime in the future once the dust has settled.

@raoul116 I really wish that message would get out so people could see clearly how we are getting screwed now compared to the past. Occupy and the Wisconsin recalls have given me a lot of hope for real change (instead of empty promises of change). People seem to be noticing that something is very wrong and they need to work for what's right and fair.

@MnDraw Thanks. You mention the 60s. Thinking back to those years it was like being in another world. I began working in the private sector in the mid 60s and the sky was the limit. With a high school diploma you could work your way up in corporate America to a comfortable lifestyle. Now, with all the bs about getting an overpriced college degree, one could hope to get a job that pays only about 1/2 of what I made back then. It's tragic what the super elite have caused for the rest of us.

Think of how much renewable energy could be installed with part of that money. That would pay off for decades. Instead the rich thieves get paid off.

We really do need to roll back to the 1960s with the tax rates and financial regulations. That part seemed to keep the psycho-rich mostly in check.
