This is a video of a Grandfather clock we recently repaired in Great Neck, Long Island, New York.

During the repair process this video was taken from the side of the clock looking in at the internal movement.

You can hear it chime clearly, this is after the sound had been properly adjusted.

This is a westminster chime, it also has a St. Michaels chime.

We repair watches from throughout the world, and clocks in Long Island/Metro New York.

  • Unfortunately I didn't get a video of the St. Michaels chime, but it does have it. This is a Keininger movement. We service all types of movements both antique and modern.

  • This is beautiful

  • grandfather clocks used to scare the heck out of me XD

  • Technically it is a "Long case clock" they called them grandfather clocks because of the song "My grandfathers clock was to tall for the shelf so it stood ninety years on the floor"

  • Do you all see many Herschede clocks up that way?

  • no it is the whittington chime

  • I have a grandfather clock with a hermle 1161-853 movement in it and it does not sound as good as this Keininger movement. This is my first grandfather clock and after I bought it, I was told that hermle is not as good of a movement as Kieninger but hermle also costs less. From your experience, What is your opinion about hermle and kieninger movements? Do you think Kieninger is better than hermle? The resonance of this Kieninger movement sounds much better than my hermle movment. Thanks

  • Can you also post the St Michael chime too?

  • Is this movement a Hermle movement or a Keininger movement?
