SOC, Swedish Open Chapionship, in Stockholm 2011, Table tennis. Final in mens single. MA Long - WANG Hao, 4 - 0 . Ma Long did not lose one set in this tournament.
@IIkingdomII I actually would prefer that they took out Zhang Jike, rather than Wang Hao. For China, its better to put in two players with different play styles, that way if one of them loses to a style that they are weak to, the other player who has an entirely different style should be ok. Plus, I feel like ZJK has shown a much greater chance of losing to some non-Chinese players that Wang Hao wouldn't.
@gsofficial each country can only send 2 players to london. China chose their's based on the world ranking as of i think May, at which time Zhang Jike and Wang Hao (not ma lin nor ma long) were to be sent. This is with the caveate that they continue to do well. Recently however, Ma long as dominated, so as of now, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will take out wang hao and put in ma long.
@IIkingdomII i'm sorry but I don't understand why they insist on sending Ma Lin, yes he is the champion but he can be beaten even by European players now...
@MaaLongg Remember that ma long hurt his ankle last year, so much of 2010 and 2011, his performance was abysmal. the chinese team chooses 2 people to send to london based on those years' results, so at that time, wang hao and zhang jike were chosen. only if ma long does very very well will he gain ability to go to london. in the past year after coming back from injury, he has done very well, so i hope he can go to london. it's unfortunate that he was injured at such a bad time
@MaaLongg china currently, is sending wang hao and zhang jike to london 2012, but hopefully with ma long's amazing performance recently, they will add him, and take out wang hao or zhang jike
@scylla24 hmm, you're right. the top 3 tanking in the world right now, in order, is ma long, wang hao, and zhang jike. i also like wang hao a lot.
