The Vieuxtemps is the world's most expensive and, some say, most virtuous violin, and now, after a half-century in private hands, it is looking for a new owner. The instrument, crafted in 1741, is on offer for 18 million dollars. AFPTV went to the Chicago dealers overseeing the Vieuxtemps's sale for an exclusive encounter with a musical rarity.Duration: 01:52

  • Plus...speaking about del Gesu and Strads...at one point it's ridiculous to say "this is the best"....ok unless you are not a hipocrit dealer. I hate this bullshit, they want to sell it for 20 millions or smth like that. It is insane. And this Jabba the hut who can't play s...t explains what is best. This kind of comercial crap make me become violent.

He's an expert and proof is that he's sold instruments to Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Gidon Kremer, Anne Sophie Mutter, Yo-Yo Ma, Midori...

  • Screw that. My German copy of a Stradivarius sounds better than that. JK. I don't think its the best though

  • Is this violin made by Antonio Stradivari?

  • Is that rug worth 18 million too?

  • @mrbeng111 If you would've listenned properly you would've understood that the fat bastard doesn't own the violin, he's just in charge of selling it.

  • Nicolo's paganini's violin is worth 40 million dollars.. wich is more then twice the price of this violin..

  • @Runescape28 no

  • NICE TOUPEE! FAT CUNT! LOL!

  • I don't like really rich guys who buy REALLY expensive violins who can't play shit on the instrument

  • An careful, well thought out approach, to the curator at the MET, in New York would be best.
