Look at the teams the Isles had to beat to win the cup in 1980. Boston, Buffalo and Philly. All 100+ point teams.

I saw this game live. What they didn't show on the replay was where Jonathan took off his helmet and hit Lorimer in the face with it while Lorimer wasn't looking. That's how he got that huge gash and the fight started. Lorimer wasn't even engaged with Jonathan when he did that. It was the cheapest shot I've ever seen and to this day, I can figure out why Jonathan would do thaht to Lorimer(a non-fighter) of all people. Either way, Gillies pounded Jonathan in retirbution later.
