The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO

A short tour around the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, MO. We took the elevator right to the top to have a great view over the river and city then we visited the museum at the base.

The Gateway Arch, also known as the Gateway to the West, is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Louis, Missouri. Built as a monument to the westward expansion of the United States, it has become the city's iconic image. It was designed by architect Eero Saarinen and structural engineer Hannskarl Bandel in 1947. It is 630 feet (192 m) wide at its base and stands 630 feet (192 m) tall, making it the tallest monument in the United States, Construction started on February 12, 1963, and ended on October 28, 1965. It is the tallest habitable structure in Missouri. The monument opened to the public on July 10, 1967

I enjoyed the Arch when I visited in 2006. I had the same problem on the lift that Sarah did. I do not like the close quarters! Love your Disney videos and look forward to your next trip. Thanks for posting.
