Everyone hates road rage, and says it must stop. Well, this is political road rage, and it's just as bad. People are frustrated about their own lives and irrationally vent their rage on people who have different views than they do. They think they can express unacceptable views when there's safety in numbers. Hate is never acceptable in a civilized society. We should all step back and think about what we're saying, if it's rational or not. The only people who can stop this hate is us.

A nutjob has taken a gun and done something terrible. The shot congresswoman was on Palin's "hit list." Now she is furiously disclaiming any responsibility for this horrible tragedy. Ms. Palin, just about every nutjob in this country listens to you. It is time for Americans to reject hatemongers of any stripe. Things didn't use to be this bad.
