@venetic44 Yeah and during these years America was happily supporting oppressive dictatorships in South America, The middle east and North Africa.... Dictators like Pinochet, Videla, Mubarak, and Hussein (Before he turned ''evil'') BUT HEY! all of these things are okay! Because we're American and we want cheap Oil, Bananas, Sugar, and Coffee. Beautiful Song, thank you. As an Australian there has for me been mixed thoughts on the Soviet era ... cold war and all (who was the enemy really?) ALL THINGS HAD TO BE AS THEY WERE for us to be where we are. Not ignoring wrongs the facts are that the sacrifice of millions of Russian and other Soviet troops in WW2 was what stopped Nazism, NOT the Americans as Hollywood would have us believe. So love em or hate em ... THANK YOU to the Russian people from one Australian, and I love your music!.

@VladNYC You should read more about history of East Europe; we were not at all so "savages", "analphabets" etc,etc as you imagine it, before the communists came to power! This was perhaps true for some far away villages, but not for the majority of cities in these countries. Did you know that Rumania and Poland used to build airplanes before WWII? Poland also used to build ships and Czechoslovakia manufactured weapons and armoured cars, that were used by the Germans too! Culture is a theme apart

Has anyone forgotten the years 1953 (Berlin), 1956 (Hungary, Poland), 1968 (Czechoslowakia), the Baltic States 1940, Bessarabia 1940, Finland 1939, Tuva 1944 ..... shall I continue? And the whole Eastern Europe, who had to suffer 50 years under the communist yoke?
