this is pure real. its called tow in surfing at a break in Maui, Hawaii called Jaws. Look it up. "surfing jaws"

no. the rope is elastic, but the jet ski doesn't surf the wave. the ski actually pulls out of the wave and follows behind just incase the surfer wipes out or when he finishes the wave, he can just get a ride back out to the lineup
