@redletter2008 Every time I write a comment on some forum about the necessity of requiring people to go through a screening process to determine whether or not they can legally have children, as well as take some comprehensive classes and instructions on how to be good parents, people come back at me accusing me of being and Nazi and a racist!
I don't believe people that have criminal records or have some weird genetic abnormality should be allowed to make babies. Too many freaks and creeps=bad

@guyNbluejeans I perhaps should have made that my main point. No doubt that those who can least afford to have children are the ones having the most, and simply expecting or demanding that responsilbe Americans take care of them. Soon, they will overwhelm the nation and its ability to financially fund programs that pay for the rent, food, utilities, etc. of America's most irresponsible and least valuable citizens (including MILLIONS of illegals). These programs are wasteful failures!
-
@redletter2008 All that plus tell the "poor" people to lay off with the baby-making.

@guyNbluejeans Certainly Johnson's "war on poverty" has failed. 47 years later and not only does poverty still exist, it is spreading in America. Trillions of dollars spent by 8 presidents, 20+ Congresses and poverty persists. Perhaps it is proof that governments shouldn't try to eliminate poverty with huge, taxpayer funded social program that simply take from one group and gives to another. Try encouraging job growth, economic expansion, rewards for initiative and work. Try "winning" the war.

Horrible president

I'm sure LBJ was ready for his 1st State of the Union because he wanted to be President for a long time

Silveradose....Thanks for the info...Carl Haydon, was the oldest serving senator at that time or was he in some legislative position? I have studies this time period and find it very interesting..Johnson, is a very interesting politician, not like the wishawashes we have today!
-
@steveforsane The senator on the right is Carl Hayden.
There's plenty of blame to lay with that one, first troops in Vietnam were sent under Eisenhower.
