Minecraft -- piston 'caterpillar' train

For a while now I had the idea of making a caterpillar type contraption using pistons, but I couldn't figure out how to keep it self contained (kind of like a robot) so I gave up. A few hours ago I thought 'hey, I could make it travel along some sort of rails' so I started fidgeting around. The result is extremely overcomplicated, utterly impractical, and kind of fun to watch. With a few modifications, and perhaps some changes to piston functionality (I'll be waiting to see what 1.7 brings) it might actually promise to be an awesome system, capable of making entire homes and bases travel along rails.
