The word avionics comes from the words aviation and electronics. Avionics is the aviation occupation of the 21st century! Avionics equipment includes navigational and communications radios, transponders, digital audio systems, flight management computers, microprocessor-controlled engine systems, aircraft autopilot systems and more!
Professional avionics technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing this equipment on all sizes of aircraft. Texas State Technical College's Avionics Technology program can help prepare you to meet the expanding responsibilities of today's avionics technician.
The program provides the technical training needed to prepare to obtain the Federal Communication Commission's General Radio-telephone Operator's License.
@spooledheat good to have but dont forget it's not just about the pieces of paper you have its about how well you can perform... this field is cut throat and if you cant keep up you will get let go... it is demanding sometimes and you never stop learning. it is a fun job overall though.

Outstanding, inspiring video that does a good job of promoting the industry and the school, but you need to delete it, and re-record it after you learn how to clear up the audio problem; too hot, distorted.
