  • The all could be dead if the wings were higher like at grumman goose. Low wings makes in stable during landing

  • @gbonventi It's not lower-wing, it's mid-wing, and it works beautifully.

  • @007wingman Wrong. The plane is a mid-wing design with the wing roots designed to act as sponsons. It's supposed to float deep in the water, that's what makes it stable.

  • @MrAnthonyfilm Try again "layman". The wings are low to the water because they are mounted mid-fuselage with the wing roots designed to be sponsons (floats) for the aircraft.

This aircraft is very tough and very stable in the water. Everyone here expects the wings to be dainty extra bits hanging off the fuselage, but they are part of the floatation and stability design.

  • @beachhouse01 ass of the plane sits 1st, then front where the wheel was out. he should of hidden the wheel before landing and if wings were higher, plane would of flipped and someone could of drowned.

  • @MrAnthonyfilm if those wings were not down by the water, plane would of flipped and someone could of drowned and die in that accident. Also, if those wings were higher, plane would have to be bigger and cost more.

  • everyone is bitching about those wings down so low. now, those wings saved that dumb ass from forgetting to hide his wheel. if those wings were up so high, plane would of flipped and someone could of died drowning.

  • another russian piece of engineer.. not so sure about a lower wing seaplane... So russos mesmo.. Gracas a deus que vcs nao morreram. O aviao esta a venda na ebay

    abracos

  • Look at the prelim ntsb report. Right gear partially extended. As the plane settled in the water, the wheel dragged, swerving right and caused the left wing to dip in. The manufacturer says the wing is designed to displace, meaning its part of the buoyancy design. Cool looking but I don't like it.
