Gracie Cat by Clarence C. Young III

Every life has a story. Some stories change lives. I was sharing a house with someone years ago suffering from extreme medical disabiities slowly stealing her mobility, energy, and what some would call life. She had been living in that house alone for years. Not a pet. Children grown, moved far away. No one. Nothing. I took her to an animal shelter one day to adopt a cat for her. Cats required little upkeep but much comfort to someone in a large home alone. We walked past cages of cats of all types, colors, personalities. None of them seemed to fit the moment or the potential owner. On our way back we were about to pass a cage previously unnoticed. The cat inside had been sleeping. Curled up in a corner way in the back of the cage. All of a sudden there was a loud meow and a white paw shot out of the cage blocking her exist. The cat and her instantly bonded when the cage door opened. The cat's name was Graice. We took her home and to this day the two of them are inseparable.

A friend adopted a cat, a dminished calico, and I swear, the photograph on her Facebook site is Gracie reincarnate. Not beleiving in coincidence I just had to publish the song I composed in the still of the night when Gracie came into my home studio to thank me for for finding someone to love her. I thanked her in return for making someone's life far more comfortable and the tears, sobs actually, Gracie's presence brought out of her new friend at the mere thought of what life would be without Gracie in it. I thanked Gracie that night composing this song. She listened intently, seemed to smile with approval, huand went down the hall to bed with her new companion.
