The Lowell Song was written with the original purpose of educating Lowell, MA, students about their city, its rivers, its historical attractions, its ethnic composition, and even its spelling.

The Lowell Song was first
sung publicly by the Molloy School first graders at the opening ceremony of Lowell's Sesquicentennial celebration in 1986.

  • Everthing about this song is now a complete lie............ Except for the spelling xD

  • @JuliaNadeau1 and except for the historical sites and except for the nationalities and except for the major rivers.... so what's left?

  • I grew up in Lincoln Square...The Highlands. Never heard this song.

  • There's a Highlands group on Facebook if you're interested.

As for the song, you would have had to have been in one of my classes or have attended the Reilly to have learned The Lowell Song.

  • @Grancie48 i myself went to the Reilly with MRs nelson and mrs burns and everyone never ever heard this song!!!!

  • @iLLMiLLz978 I think it was Mrs. Rogers who taught this to her music students. I'm GUESSING it was the mid 1990's
